While I agree, isn't there an acute difference between racism and sexism when compared with meanness?
Discrimination by race or sex is discrimination based on innate, unchangeable qualities of an individual. Prejudice against religion, however, is based off a person's choice. Religion isn't something you're born with; you choose to be whatever religion you chose every day you wake up.
I'm not endorsing intolerance by any means; I definitely know the frustration of being labeled and judged by someone else's view of my belief system. But I'm not sure if this is a valid comparison.
While you may be right, my true intention in writing this point was to question why there's no word like "religionism" or something along those lines. There's no word for religious intolerance. Is there? I could be completely wrong. It was more aimed at the grammatical nonsense that is English. I was not very clear, though.
Wikipedia files it under its own category..."Racism/Sexism/Ageism/Religious Intolerance/Xenophobia"
...if Wikipedia doesn't know, nobody does. :(
'Ligionism?
haha, indeed.
